See the landscape spread before you as you experience first hand the adventures of flying
Experience an exciting adventure as you take a flight at a low level over the glorious Derby countryside. The flying school is one of the largest in the UK, with friendly staff, CAA approval and an award wining status. Your instructor will control the plane during take-off and landing and will instruct you as you take control of the light aircraft once airborne. Not only will learn the basics of how to handle and manoeuvre a light aircraft, you will also get a fantastic view!
Upon arrival at the flying club you will be introduced to your instructor who will take you to the operations room for a briefing before the flight. You will discuss how the plane works, your flight route and the controls and instruments of the aircraft will be explained. You will be flying a 2 seater Cessna 152 or Cessna 140. It will then be time to step into the left hand seat (Captains' seat) of the cockpit. The instructor will be sat beside you, taxi the plane to the runway and take off. Once airborne you will be taught the basics of handling a light aircraft, and then complete control is passed over to you. After your flying lesson you can purchase a log book from the club where the flight time can be recorded and count toward the Private Pilot Course if you decide to pursue a career or hobby as a pilot. Remember to bring a camera as there will be plenty of great photo opportunities. The lesson will last for an hour.
