Learn to sail aboard this proven Ocean Race Yacht. (SPECIAL OFFER - normal price £99)
Clipper 60, Taeping, has an impressive history, successfully completing four circumnavigations around the world. This day introduces participants to the principles of sailing in a relaxed, informal environment. A real "hands on" day out - everyone has the chance to actively crew the yacht, taking a turn at aspects from steering to working on the foredeck. Throughout the day the professional skipper and mate will be on hand to teach crew members the basics of sailing and talk them through all the manoeuvres.
The crew meet at 10am in the marina for a cup of tea or coffee and safety brief about the boat. Then head up Southampton Water into the open area of the Solent. Lunch is provided onboard. You are welcome to sit back and enjoy the ride, however you will be encouraged to take part in the sailing which will involve taking the helm, hoisting and trimming sails. This trip runs from 10am to 3pm on selected Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in April and May.

On purchasing this experience you will be voucher valid until 31 May 2008. This experience is suitable for people over the age of 12. Anyone aged 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a full paying parent or guardian. Please book well in advance. The skipper reserves the right to curtail the experience on safety grounds if the weather becomes severe. In the event that weather prevents the experience from taking place your date will be rescheduled. This experience is not suitable for those who suffer from seasickness. This voucher cannot be extended.
