Fly up, up and away in a light aircraft on your first flying lesson
Enjoy a 30 minute lesson with a CAA approved instructor! The trainers here are exceptional as they come from a specialist teaching school rather than a flying club. This ensures that you get the most from your lesson in the clouds. Enjoy the flight centre's excellent hospitality and outstanding facilities during this fantastic lesson. Once you've landed, you will leave the airport with a new knowledge of flight principles, light aircraft and most importantly, how to fly a plane!
On arrival to the flight training centre you will be greeted with by your own pilot who will take you for your lesson. Enjoy complimentary coffee or tea and biscuits throughout the briefing that starts things off. Firstly, there will be a short discussion and demonstration of the principles of flight and the controls of the plane. You will also plan the route you will take during your flight. Then it's time to jump into the pilot's seat, watching as your instructor takes off and runs through the controls of the cockpit. You will be guided through basic manoeuvres and will be in complete control of the aircraft for most of the flight (under close dual control supervision).

Information and Restrictions
On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for 10 months for one person. On receipt of the voucher you are free to call and book your lesson with the flight training centre. When you book it is essential to inform the centre if you are over 6'4” or over 16 stone as an extra charge may be necessary as a bigger plane may be required. The minimum age for this experience is 14 years old. If the participant is under 18 a parent or guardian needs to join them on the day. Family and friends are welcome to come along and watch you fly. It is essential that you become a temporary member of the air centre on the day - this is free of charge and it ensures you are covered by the centre's insurance. All lessons are subject to availability and weather conditions on the day and so clients are advised to phone the morning of the lesson to check if it is safe to fly.
